The United Arab Emirates is filled with many tourist attractions starting from the very famous Dubai to many other emirates and the fabulous desert.
Dubai was my home for five years and I will definitely suggest you pay a visit, however, if you are looking for an outdoor escape, Ras Al Khaimah is one of UAE‘s emirates which offers more nature and a less crowded environment.
Planning to visit the United Arab Emirates soon? This is an excellent idea! Let's talk through the 4 Best Days Itinerary In Ras Al Khaimah and Hatta On The Weekend! And all the spectacular sights and outdoor activities you can do.
Planning a holiday to the United Arab Emirates usually involves Dubai and maybe a day in Abu Dhabi, but there are many other places you should explore.
Although in the past Ras Al Khaimah was a small fishing village, nowadays, it became famous for its outstanding nature, leisure, adventure, and authentic offerings.
Here you will definitely find the best location for a relaxing atmosphere under the sun between the sea and the desert.
You can find a really great deal as the mix between traditional and luxury gives you a large variety of prices.
Since there are no trains, subways, or busses, cabs are the main transportation option and the price is very affordable. Of course, you can rent a car. This will certainly be the easiest way to explore a larger part of the region. Just keep in mind that all daily trip offers a shuttle so renting a car is not really mandatory.
On the other side, Hatta is a pure mountain adventure. Therefore for at least 2 days, you can leave the city behind and head for the picturesque region of UAE. While if you want to really explore these regions, I will suggest at least a 4 days break so you can cover some of the most important landmarks.
When you look at this itinerary, it looks overwhelming with the number of attractions to visit each day. Please don’t force yourself to do everything. Instead, I encourage you to tailor your itinerary based on your interest and how you’re feeling. Now, let’s enjoy this vibrant city!
First Day
RAK Beach and Town
For your first day in RAK, I definitely suggest a few well-deserved relaxing hours at the beach.
The emirate’s coastline is full of resorts and hotels, offering private golden sand beaches. Although part of them are private, most of the hotels allow non-guests to benefit from their facilities based on a daily cost.
Besides all this, you have water activities such as canoeing and jet skis or cruises for a fun day. Also, many restaurants and cafes, when a refreshing break is needed.
The evening is the perfect moment to visit the city. The National Museum of Ras Al Khaimah hosts an excellent collection of archeological artifacts.
Particularly interesting definitely are the manuscripts between Ras Al Khaimah and British Monarchs.
Besides all this, you can explore the traditions, architecture, pearl cultivations, plus historical and fishing culture.
Second Day
Ras al Khaimah Adventure
Your second day in Ras Al Khaimah can be reserved for a bit of adventure.
Shimal is a small village located about 12 km north of Ras Al Khaimah city and represents a dense archeological landscape. This extensive cultural site consists of prehistorical tombs, settlements, a medieval castle beside the pottery, many stone bowls, and guns made of bronze and copper.
All these discoveries from the past 5000 years are well preserved in this village.
Here comes the real adventure! Therefore you should not miss Jabel Jais, the world’s longest zipline and dunes safari are some of the most entertaining adventure activities in all United Arab Emirates.
And as soon as you want to run out from the hot temperatures, Ice Land Water Park is the perfect spot to relax, refresh, and have a lot of fun.
Third Day
Hatta and Arabic Culture
The most adventurous location is definitely found in Hatta. A mini weekend getaway will take you directly to picturesque mountain ranges and natural landscapes.
Hatta Fort is one of the most significant monuments in the country. There are many things to see and a large internal courtyard to explore.
Hatta Hill Park is the perfect picnic spot for families and friends. Located over a mountain, the beautiful scenery offers a perfect relaxing time.
This is the ideal place to take a step back in time, approximately 3000 years ago. In Hatta Heritage Village you can explore the Arab culture and traditions of that era.
Another different relaxing spot is Hatta Swan Lake, which is located near Heritage Village. Besides the peaceful atmosphere, many local birds can be admired in this area.

For the most adventurous seekers, paragliding is the ideal experience. If you do want to try this experience you have the chance to admire Hatta’s beautiful scenery from the air.
Hatta Wadi Hub offers a complete list of the best escapes for adventure seekers. Many things to try out, from Downhill Carting, Axe Throwing, Archery, or Wall Climbing to an inflatable obstacle course or four-wheel off-road electric scooter.
Now, if you still have some more days left, Fujairah is another great location to explore in the United Arab Emirates. In my opinion, a bit different than any other emirates and with a great Oman Golf coastline.
