Exploring Singapore for the first or third time is exciting as there are so many tourist attractions to see and many activities to do. Although is a small city, I recommend a minimum of 4 days in order to get the most out of your trip and of course to visit as many locations as possible.
Planning to visit Singapore soon? This is an excellent idea! Let's talk through the 4 Best Days Itinerary In Singapore On The Weekend!
One of the most important aspects you must consider is the budget for this trip. Singapore is not a cheap city therefore all tourist activities, food, and transportations are a bit up in terms of prices.
As well, if you want to avoid extra payments, book your accommodation in advance, at least a month prior to your trip. Here, this can save you a good amount of money.
Now, regarding the number of days you need for your trip to Singapore, I can definitely say that 4 days can cover the most important landmarks.
However, there are people with 12 hours layover who are able to visit some of the most important locations. The same goes for the ones spending 2 weeks in Singapore without being enough. So, no stress on this.
All in all, this guide will give first-time visitors and not only, a great overview of what this incredible city has to offer.
When you look at this itinerary, it looks overwhelming with the number of attractions to visit each day. Please don’t force yourself to do everything. Instead, I encourage you to tailor your itinerary based on your interest and how you’re feeling. Now, let’s enjoy this vibrant city!
First Day
Marina Bay and China Town
The greatest way to start your trip is with Marina Bay. Here you can explore the Garden By The Bay, and the Marina Bay Sands Hotel, the famous landmark in Singapore.
If you are looking for cultural places, in this area you can find the National Gallery of Singapore, the Asian Civilisations Museum, and the National Museum of Singapore. Art Science Museum is just next to Marina Bay Sands.
China Town is a great location to set it up for the afternoon, as you will definitely need more than just a couple of hours to explore this area. The are many streets fully filled with shops and restaurants so you will not know when the time passes by.
Sri Mariamman Temple and Thian Hock Temple are two of the most impressive sights you should visit in the area. As well here you can find Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Singapore City Gallery which are definitely worth it.
If you find yourself still in China Town don’t miss the street Chinese food which is delicious.
For a more exclusive place, I suggest you take the dinner at Fleur De Sel or Guzman & Gomez. Maxwell Food Center is another location you should consider, as here you can find a large variety of food stalls to choose from.
An amazing location to relax, and have a glass of wine or a cocktail, is Levant Bar. You can try as well 1864 The Bar Sofitel Singapore. For a special night out you should have some drinks at Blue Jazz.
And if you don’t want to walk, the easiest way to get to see all these landmarks is by taking the famous Hop-On Hop-Off Bus.
Second Day
Singapore Zoo and TreTop Walk
You definitely should visit these locations as there are many outside activities you can enjoy. You can explore the Singapore Zoo, or you can experience a TreTop Walk.
The ruins of Sionan Jinja are one of the landmarks here. This is one of those locations which will cover a full day, so be ready to walk a lot.
A great option for lunch is to something from the local markets and serve it in the park. However, if this is not possible, there are many restaurants outside the park.
The Light Rhapsody Show at Garden By The Bay is the greatest way to spend a relaxing evening after a full walking day.
And if, after all of these activities you still have energy, in the Garden by the Bay area you can find 1927 Rooftop Bar, one of the amazing bars in Singapore, in my opinion.
Third Day
Sentosa Island and Merlion
There are a few ways to reach Sentosa Island, however, for a great view, I definitely suggest the cable car which you can take from Mount Faber.
For a great relaxing atmosphere, you can explore the island whether you like, walking or on public transportation.
If you choose activities, then you have the beaches for a sunny day or the Adventure Cove Waterpark.
Universal Studios Singapore, the thematic park is one of the landmarks in Sentosa Island so make sure you don’t skip it.
Madam Tussauds is definitely worth it and the Mega Adventure Park it’s a perfect place for a bit of adrenaline.
Merlion is one of the main tourist attractions and the country’s mascot therefore a very crowded area, but if you want to have some Instagrammable Merlions here in Sentosa you can take your perfect pictures.
Forth Day
Little India and Teka Center
Little India is a vibrant neighborhood filled with electric sights, food, and culture. Many great locations for the perfect shot.
Tan Teng Niah House, this colorful building attracts thousands of people every year.
Few streets away from Little India you will find Sultan Mosque, Vintage Camera Museum, and Malay Heritage Center.
As I’ve said many times, no trip without shopping, Tekka Center is another location worth visiting, one of the most affordable food and clothes shopping centers in Singapore.
If you still find some time in between all the landmarks I’ve mentioned, you should pay a visit to Helix Bridge, Botanical Garden, and S.E.A Aquarium.
