In fact, any day within one week is an ideal time to take a fresh look at some of its attractions. So stuff your face with a hot butty and simply head off for adventure. With the cold snap due, I suppose it is now meant to bid farewell to all those cliches we used to rave about and tell you a truly personal story concerning love and antiquity: November Greece!

Greece in November

Here is my story on how to fall in love with Greece all over again, one November day at a time.

Whether you’re a diving lover, a history fan, or looking for vibrant nights out, Greece is truly a dream vacation for almost everyone.

And rightfully so, its 2,000 islands with stunning amounts of coastlines, Athens with Acropolis and Parthenon, and spectacular parties in Mikonos make it a great travel destination. Seriously, what’s not to love?

Many islands are famous for their beaches and natural features, while others have a significant nightlife scene or strong cultural traditions.

That’s right, Greece has it all!

One of the most historically rich cities on the globe, probably already on your bucket list destinations, Athens is a must, but there is so much more to explore than just its spectacular capital.

Traditions still live within this vibrant and fully modern country! Explore both, the Greece of the past and of the present.

For beach lovers, Greek Islands has it all, whether you’re looking for a secluded cove, rocky cliffs, or golden sands.

Keep in mind that each region in Greece has its own identity, culture, and traditions.

And while Greece’s beautiful landmarks and delicious cuisine made it an unforgettable trip, there are a few things that I wish I had known beforehand.

Greece in November: Best Time to Travel

If you are searching for a great year-round destination then head to Greece. and you can enjoy amazing weather 365 days a year. Sure, the summer sun might have dipped below the horizon, but Greece in November paints a different kind of masterpiece.

Summer is the high season and with endless miles of coastline is hard to say no to a summer trip to Greece.

Typically with good weather comes higher costs, so expect to pay higher prices for accommodation and flights!

If visiting during the busiest time of year sounds like your worst nightmare, then May through September should be avoided at all costs.

Greece is absolutely spectacular during the spring, the best time to visit before crowds are coming so you are able to enjoy it peacefully.

In many parts of the country, the pleasantly warm winter weather is ideal for exploring. Although coastal resort towns are empty, there are so many other places to visit throughout Greece.

You’ll probably want to plan your trip in early spring or late autumn. With most travelers preferring the summer season, you’ll have better luck finding great hotel room rates and flights.

Fall, when the grapes are being harvested and the wine-tasting season is at its peak is easily one of the best times for wine lovers.

Overall, there’s never a bad time to visit Greece!

Budget for Greece

The official currency of Greece is the Euro (EUR).

Credit cards are widely accepted throughout Greece and are preferable if you want to get the best exchange rate.

Wherever you want to use cash, there are a lot of ATMs all over the country in major cities. But if you are going on a day trip to some small islands I would recommend carrying some cash.

It is generally wise to select which major iconic attractions you want to visit in Greece and book tickets online before your trip. You will save money, sometimes significantly. and you will also, skip the wait lines and walk right on in. It makes absolutely no sense to waste time standing in a line if you can avoid it.

Check out Booking.com to compare prices for hotels.

Book your flight at least one month prior to your trip and if you have destinations on your Greece itinerary beyond Athens (which you definitely should!), make sure to have all your tickets prearranged.

In Greece, the prices may go up during the peak season in the summertime, so is better to check the spring-autumn deals if you don’t want to break the bank.

Yes, it may be fun to visit as many restaurants and clubs as possible, however, that may put a strain on your budget.

Getting Around in Greece

Transportation plays an essential part in your travel experience through Greece. You’ll find several ways to get around, as the country is served by an excellent rail network, buses, and ferries that cover most of the places you’ll want to get to beyond the tracks.

Public transportation prices vary by city and most cities offer a multi-day pass, such as Athens. While there are many airports, you cannot reach all destinations by plane and you will miss those scenic country road views.

Luckily there is also Uber in Greece’s major cities!

Shuttle or car services are the easiest and most comfortable way to move around Greece!

Renting a car works out to be your best bet for full flexibility and going off the beaten path. Car rentals can be an affordable option in Greece. Check out these really good offers for rental cars.

Now, if you don’t want to drive but still have a comfortable trip through Greece, one of the best ways of getting around is by booking a private car charter with a driver.

Safety in Greece

While in the past have been periods of unrest, now Greece is considered a safe travel destination.

However, you still need to be aware of your surroundings, petty theft, and pickpocketing are usually the biggest things you need to pay attention to. As long as you practice common sense and take precautions, you won’t have any problems during your trip.

Solo female travelers should feel comfortable here, though walking alone at night should be avoided just to be safe.

As a general rule, don’t wear flashy jewelry or wave around valuables and always keep your wallet secure when out and about.

Also is really helpful to check the State Department’s Warnings before traveling.

What To Wear this November in Greece

As a rule, Greeks locals, like many of their European neighbors, dress in a casual and summerly way.

Comfort is an essential part of your experience and the key to mastering the Greek style.

No matter what time of year you are visiting, when packing for your trip to Greece, there are a few key items you must consider. Always make sure you have a crossover bag, sunglasses, comfortable shoes, and midi dresses, and you can’t go far wrong.

Obviously, the weather will play a factor in what you’re packing, but for the most part of the year, you should be fine with mainly “beachy” attire.

If you are visiting Athens as part of a layover as you head to other destinations, or if it’s a very quick weekend trip, you want to choose classic pieces in neutral shades that you can easily mix and match.

Smart casual clothes will carry you through sightseeing, eating out, and any other major travel activities.

Depending on your travel plans, for your main suitcase, you’ll want to decide whether to bring a carry-on or a backpack.

I came across the setout backpack by WHONLOX and I think it’s the best luggage for your trip to Greece.

Once you’ve arrived at your destination, you’re going to want a reliable and safe crossover bag to carry around things like your camera and wallet.

As always, the best thing to keep in mind for any travel is to pack light and only bring the necessities. Trust me, you don’t wanna carry a huge suitcase all around Greece.

For a finishing touch that will add a bit of elegance to your look take with you a hat.

Shoes can make or break a trip. Greece is covered in hills and cobblestone streets, which make it so spectacular, and also difficult to walk through at times. Sneakers are always my favorites, given that you’ll be doing a lot of walking or sandals for summer days. Stick with flats to keep your feet comfortable.

My Greek outfit consisted of midi dresses, they’re stylish and comfortable, while maxi dresses were the perfect fit for a night out.

Mini-skirts, skimpy outfits, and swimwear are usually reserved for the beach.
